Phase 2 Phonics SATPIN flashcards
SATPIN are the first six sounds taught in most UK phonics programmes. These flashcards help children recognise letter shapes and learn the sounds s, a, t, p, i, n, before moving on to the remaining Phase 2 sounds which are also included.
Different versions are available, including letters with pictures, letters only, and pictures only. Tricky words and high-frequency words are also available.
These flashcards are completely FREE for personal, educational and non-commercial use.
Here are a few quick tips to help you have fun and make the most of the Phase 2 Phonics SATPIN flashcards
Start off with short 5-10 minute sessions and build up slowly. If your child loses interest it’s a good idea to stop and carry on at a later time. It is better to have short, frequent sessions than long, infrequent ones.
Use the flashcards when your child is awake and alert, trying to teach a tired and cranky child will simply get both of you frustrated.
Make sure the area where you are doing flashcard activities is free from any distractions, put away any toys and turn off the TV and any other devices so that both of you can focus on the task at hand.
The most important thing is that you are enthusiastic and that you give your child lots of encouragement and praise. Your child will pick up on your enthusiasm and will respond positively.
